After months of waiting, the Samsung Galaxy M55 finally goes official in Nepal. Although speculated to be another version of the Galaxy A55, this guy brings some differences, especially for the performance side. It is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 instead of the Exynos 1480 SoC. Design and Display

In terms of looks, the Galaxy M55 retains the classy Samsung rear design with a protruding camera lens and a hole-punch display upfront. The middle frame is not flat though, it’s curved instead. It brings the same IP67 dust and water rating as the Galaxy A55 5G.

The display is a sizable 6.7-inch AMOLED panel of Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It can get pretty bright at 1000 nits (peak) and features an under-screen optical fingerprint sensor.

Chipset and Memory

Firstly, let’s talk performance! The Galaxy M55 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset made by Samsung under a 4nm process! The phone features 8 GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

On the software side, the Galaxy M55 runs on One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 and will receive 4 years of OS upgrades alongside 5 years of security patches.

Camera and Battery

Talking of the cameras, the main 50MP sensor with OIS seems to carry over from the Galaxy A55 but the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro are a bit of a downgrade. Over on the front though, you get a higher res 50MP selfie shooter.
